"Maddy" is a straight-eared American Curl female (spay).

Maddy unfortunately displays may traits that are NOT desirable for an American Curl.

In the top picture she is about 8 months old and looks quite good. She has nice minimal undercoat with a full, plumed tail, good head length and shape, nice eyes, a strong chin and lovely large ears. Nevertheless, even in this picture you can notice that her legs are thick and heavy-boned. Curls should have medium to fine boning, more "delicate" in appearance.

In the second picture she is about 2.5 years old. You can see that she developed a thick, heavy undercoat. Her ears have dropped down lower on her head than is correct for Curls. Her head may still be good, but so much coat gives it a much rounder appearance. She remains heavy boned, and probably weighs 10+ pounds - far too heavy for a female which should be between 5-7 lbs.
